Realms will not connect - not throwing an error

When joining the realm - it starts loading (either xbox, pc or Ipad) and then fails and says unable to connect to server

After the "Joining Realm... This may take a few moments" and "Loading Resource packs" screens, the "Unable to connect to world" screen appears.

 

Last seems to be used at 1am UK time - no back ups etc. since then
