Some text on signs disappearing

Whenever my text on a sign includes certain words, the sign becomes blank. They aren't curse words either. it happens with normal words, for example "spencer" would cause the sign to become blank, but "spemcer" would not. This issue has only started recently. Is there any way to fix this?
