Windows 10 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 connect to realms stuck at "syncing pack with server"

Through both these last two updates, our realms connection via a Win10 machine is broken.

Does not seem to impact 2 Android devices connecting to the same realm running 1.1.1 or 1.1.2.

Attempting to connect to the realm gets stuck at "syncing pack with server". After a while, "server has disconnected" appears, halting any progress.

Have:

• created a new realm
• reinstalled minecraft
• updated from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2

And there has been no change to this issue.

Am stumped.
