Glitch in realms

I was on realms on an iPad and only a certain part of the world generated. My brother was also in the realm, but he could see the rest of the world. I was following him and I reached the edge of where it generated for me, but instead of generating more land I fell and lost everything I had on me, including my levels. To say the least, this was kind of disappointing and frustrating as I was in survival and had just recently found some rarities in dungeons. Please fix this
