Elytra fails when flying, causing falls

When flying with elytra, the game will randomly pause your flight. This will cause you to lose momentum and drop you out of the sky. Most of the time this means you die in the middle of nowhere. This glitch has happened to myself and multiple others in the end, the overworld, and the nether. None of us have reported noticing lag at the time of the crash, other than the player falling.
