"Invalid Session"

I'm currently not being allowed into the Realms client because of an "Invalid Session" error that tells me to restart Minecraft. After I try restarting Minecraft, I get the same response. I also tried to delete and re-download Minecraft but got the same message. I do not pay for the realm, my friend does and this started by trying to join his world. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
