Couldn't Stop Digging On Realm

I was on a friend's relm, mining cobblestone, and I suddenly was stuck digging even though I was done. I moved my mouse and it would destroy everything without me clicking. I made sure it wasn't my mouse but it continued. I was unable to exit out of Minecraft and had to force stop the program.
