Going in water crashes game

Whenever i go in water it has a decent chance of crashing the game. This has caused me to die on multiple occasions where i drown when i log back in. This seems to happen more when I'm near the surface but it happened once when i was a few blocks under too. I asked my friends if they had this same problem and they did. I searched to see if anyone else reported this bug and i think I'm the first to report this bug. Please let me know if you know why this is happening and if you see this.
