Joining a realm

Hi , I have encountered problems with joining a realm on console edition !! I haven't been able to load into the realm receiving an unable to connect message after waiting on the resource pack loading screen for a few minutes,however I have been able to join sometimes but the world doesn't fully load in, I cant mine blocks and collect them, hostile mobs dont attack me and I can't attack any mob andother players can't see me physically but seeme join the realm. I only have been able join and play normally once with this error happening until present. Thank you
