Terrain Doesn't Load After Going Through an End Gateway

Immediately after going through an end gateway using an ender pearl, the player is met with a completely black environment. No terrain is loaded and the player cannot move. If the player tries to log off of the realm and rejoin, they are stuck at the "building terrain" screen. A screenshot is attached.
