Minecraft Realms: I threw an egg and the game crashed?

I was the only person on the realm at the time, and I threw an egg into the chicken cage, and the whole game crashed, man. Tested it again for the same result. Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, the realms servers are really laggy in general :/ and mine experiences delays constantly.
