Freeze when using Crafting Table

I am playing on a realm on the Minecraft pocket edition app on an iPhone11 and I also sometimes use an iPad and encounter the same issue. The issue is that when I am playing on a realm and I click the crafting table, it doesn't not work. The game just freezes when I click the crafting table. I have to completely close out of the app to start playing again. If I play on my own world, the crafting table works just fine but when I play on my friend's realm, it does not work at all. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but that doesn't work. I have even messed with the settings  within the app as well and it didn't work.
