Red wolf spawned from egg

So, I was playing on a realm server my friend had created and I came across this, I have no Idea if it is normal or Is a Bug, but to be safe I'm reporting it anyway, red wolf?

also, apparently this is done by command, but in this case, it was not and spawned from an egg.
