Renewing my realm created a new realm as well as renewing my old realm

My realm was showing as expired in Minecraft, but I had already been charged to renew it, and when I went into my account on the Minecraft website it allowed me to select the renew option and go through the renewing process, but once I did that I discovered that it had created a new realm and charged me for that, while my existing realm had already renewed but was not showing as renewed in Minecraft or on the Minecraft website. This meant that I have been charged for creating a new realm because my neither the website or Minecraft realms in game showed that my realm had renewed and made me try and renew it when I had already been charged for renewing it.
