New UK Realm experiencing high lag and connectivity problems

Apologies in advance, I'm not sure if this is the right place to report a realm problem, but I like you guys because you're always super fast with replies.

I am assisting a new realm owner in the UK.   She just created a realm this week, and players are experiencing high latency and connection problems.   I am in the US, but I did not have any performance issues, whereas all the UK players are having problems.

I suspect the realm may have been provisioned in a less-than-ideal region?  All players are UK based.    It has always been my understanding that realms are provisioned on the nearest Amazon EC2 region to the realm owner's IP?   It should have provisioned into the UK region, but, I'm not sure if that's the case or not....

She created the realm from the UK.

Can you please advise on how to get the latency issues resolved?
