Seeds and Saplings don't grow

I started a world and a few weeks in i turned the world into a realm. Crops grew fine the entire time it was a world and for the first couple days of it being a realm. Crops only grow if I'm standing right next to them and even then it's a snails pace. About 30ish beat root seeds took about 9 hours real life time to fully grow because I left my Xbox running all day to test it. I planted a stack of potato's and when I got back on 2 days later nothing had changed they were all at the same growing stage. When I'm playing if I am not in the general vicinity of the crops or saplings they will not grow. This issue has affected carrots, wheat, potato's, beat root, pumpkin, melon and tree saplings to my understanding.  Bamboo, cactus, and sugar cane have not been affected in my realm. I play on an Xbox series X and it has made the game unplayable. I want to build using mangrove wood and traveled 8000 blocks away to find them and bring them back to my base and the saplings are of no use because they don't grow. I really hope this is a bug the can be patched because I really enjoy the world I've created and spent a lot of time on it already.
