Getting kicked when a player leaves realm

When a player leaves the realm it kicks the other players. It only affects those who are splitscreening with someone else. I've gone through all the settings I can think of and there's no options or anything as to why this would be happening. It doesnt affect those who aren't splitscreen playing.
