Armor lost after death

Me and my friend where playing on a realm on version 1.19.73. It was night time and I was sleeping in a bed my friend however flew with his elytra into the bed I was sleeping in or the wall behind it I'm not sure and died to kinetic energy. He had used a rocket 3-4 blocks infront of the bed. Once he hit a block his totem of undying in his 2nd hand got used. All his items dropped when he died except for all the armor he was wearing in this case a netherite helmet, an eyltra, netherite legings and netherite boots they just were gone no where to be found.
