Cannot Load Realm after update to 1.13

Yesterday right after the update to 1.13, Realms would not load with an error message that Realms could not connect, please try again later.

Today there is just a game crash. When I try to load a friend's Realm, I get the message that server is outdated.

I am using this Realm for a college course and we cannot access it.

Please advise. Thanks
