Infinite Flying Rocket Glitch

So me and my friend, were on our realm when he used an elytra with rockets and landed. The particles from the rocket were still there. He could use the elytra as if he had rockets (he had 0). Eventually it went away, but after using 1 rocket it immediately came back. After he left the particles still stayed. But when he rejoined he kept the crazy effect.
