Losing hours and hours of progress

My friends were playing on realms and lost hours of progress as well as some of the entities in the world with no way to get their items back besides setting back progress even further through backups. This has been a known issue in the realms community for nearly 2 years and now and for paying customers it feels like it is a great disservice.
