Lost all items in inventory

After updating Realms to the newest version Aquatic update Part 2 I logged on and all of my inventory items and armor were gone and I was reset to the original spawn point. I backed up to a previous save and it had no effect. I thought the point of Realms was to be more secure and easier to use... I had a few rare enchanted diamond tools I really hated to lose. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you
