PC and PS4 chunk loading issue

 I created a realm for me and my girlfriend to play on, me being on PC and her being on PS4. We had an issue for ~2 hours with her chunks not loading correctly and started testing to figure out why. We've found that if she loads the chunk before I do, it works fine. But If I load the chunk before her all blocks become transparent and no chunks beyond it will load. This also occurs across sessions, so if we both left in the same spot and I joined the realm before her, the chunk we left in would become transparent for her and we would both have to leave and I would let her join first. Again, the only fix we've found is for her to load chunks before me which locks us into a very weird dynamic when it comes to exploring and doing our own things.  

 

Fixes we've tried:

• Resetting the world,
• Closing and reopening the realm
• Restarting both devices (PC & PS4)
• Reinstalling the game.
• PS4 Loading chunks before PC (which worked)

 

TLDR; A PS4 player can't load chunks that a PC player loaded before them.
