Texture/Skin Issues

I cannot access the 'create/edit a character' so I am stuck using default skins. When I try to access dressing room within the realm it refuses to load, the options that you can flip through at the top are entirely grayed out and don't load. The texture of the llamas that spawn in game (either on their own in the biome OR with the trader) are just colored blocks, there's no detail no eyes or face or anything at all. And the villagers are all wearing the unassigned brown outfit even if they are Nitwits or have been assigned to a job block. I can't tell who is a Fletcher/Farmer/etc unless I click on them and the buy menu pops up, and I can't tell who is a Nitwit because they aren't in green.
