Signs hide/delete text on first line under very specific conditions

Game Type: Minecraft Realms (I own/ pay for the Realms server.)

Version: 1.19.1

No mods or alterations to the game added.  Purely vanilla.

Game Mode: Survival

 

I was naming a bridge I just made, and I discovered an anomaly with my Oak Signs.

The Intended Name:

Line1 The So-So

Line2 Cobblestone

Line3 Bridge

Line4 Est. 07/28/2022

 

The Result:

Line2 Cobblestone

Line3 Bridge

Line4 Est. 07/28/2022

 

I proceeded to test if this happened for every sign made with any text.  The answer?  Up to "The So-S" would be hidden/ deleted.  However, "The So-" was fine.  I have no idea why.

 

Note: The Images attached are out of order, and I managed to take a snap of the newly created sign just before the text would otherwise disappear.
