Minecraft for Switch account issues

For the last 3 months, both my sister and I cannot log into our Microsoft account (MrBoo5000 for me and BooBear50000 for her) to play online with friends.  We select the choice to store data in the online account and get the link/code screen, but when we sign in using the computer, it shows the account log in and we get emails confirming the account log-in, but the switch gives us a failure to login message and the box to the right changes back from my account name to "Sign In With Microsoft Account".  My sister opened a ticket through another forum and was told they were too busy fixing billing issues to assist and to try to find another forum to get help.  We don't want to lose the history of our accounts through the games we play on Xbox, so we don't want to create new accounts but would like to play with friends on the switch.  Is there any way to get the login process fixed so we can play online with friends?  Any help would be appreciated.
