Broken netherite boots with soul speed III become stuck in boot equipment slot when breaking via soul speed deterioration

My netherite boots with soul speed III broke while I was walking on soul sand in the overworld, and they stayed in my boot equipment slot but were still broken and could not be removed from the slot, behaving like the cursed bee hive bug from 1.14. Removal of boots required dying.
