Error on trying to upload a realm to replace one

I have a realm saved locally on my iPad.  I have a subscription for a hosted realm.  When I edit the hosted realm and select to replace the realm with the local one, it shows the exporting realm time bar, but then once that is complete opens the ‘uploading realm’ window but does nothing and after a while says ‘error’.
