Cannot log into Microsoft Account after multiple attempts

Not much else to say, the title covers it, I've attempted at least 4 to 5 times to log my son Microsoft Account in to his Switch Minecraft but it just never happens. No error messages, the remoteconnect bit you complete seems to work perfectly fine, but it never logs into his Switch game.
