I Can't get in my friend's LAN world

I can't get into my friend's LAN world. Every time I try, it says "unable to connect" my WIFI is on and everything is fine, but I still can't get in. The only way I can join is if my friend goes into their world and the I click on the Join button as they are in the loading screen to get in.
