Everyone and all custom Entities are Steve!

When I load up a server, such as the Hive, EVERYTHING IS STEVE! EVERYONE IS STEVE! How do i fix this or can it even be fixed??! My "Allow Only Trusted Skins" is off. Its getting a little annoying because skins are everything to me in Minecraft and Steve is not what I prefer to see all the time. Any Suggestions??
