Using § to change colors on signs will not carry over to next line on sign

When using § to change the color of texts on a sign, the color selected will not carry over to the next line on the sign.

WHAT I EXPECTED:

My color of text would carry over to the next line on the sign

WHAT HAPPENED:

I had to use another § to change the color on the second, third, and fourth lines

HOW TO REPRODUCE:

1. Log in to a creative world.
2. Place a sign.
3. Change the color of the text using the §.
4. Type enough characters so a new line on the sign automatically creates.
