Sprint not working when in mid-air

When you parkour and you just want to start sprinting when preparing in mid-air for the next jump it is just not letting you to start sprinting in mid-air when not flying if you double tap the move forward on-screen button. This always has been an issue but I am wondering why the game developers aren't fixing it on Bedrock when playing on mobile device with touchscreen? Why you have to use keyboard or controller to start sprinting in mid-air when not flying?
