Windows 10 not getting acheivements

I download the game from the windows store. i open game, login to my  gamers tag and then load up a survival game with no coordinates nor cheats enabled. (default settings) and start the game. no time played no achievements. i go to a tree and mine the wood get 6 pieces and then create a crafting table and one of each wooden tool. check progress of achievements. no time played and no achievements. i should be getting 2 min one for making one of each tool as well as one for opening the inventory.
