Neither Portal not working

I create a neither portal, but when I try to go through it, the computer suddenly freezes. Then after about a minute, the program suddenly shut down, unexpectedly. I have tried to go through the portal several times, but it keeps happening over and over again. I have Windows 10 Minecraft Beta trial version, to see if I wish to buy. I was actually planning to buy until this problem came up.
