Wither Respawns in the end

Me and my buddy's spawned the wither in our world In the end and after will killed the wither he Respawns in the end and my buddy died lost everything but his armor idk if this is just us but I cant get pictures bc my friend basically gave up on the world please can someone see if this is a bug?
