Minecraft randomly freezing the screen

When I was on my friend’s survival world, I was sorting my inventory and then all of a sudden my Minecraft froze but my friend told me that everything is normal on his screen. I don’t know if this is a glitch or a bug in the new update. This started happening since the latest update was released.
