I drowned when I went to play in my world

I was resting and I entered to play my world I was in the nether before entering
When in between I was suddenly drowning and without any explanation or anything I died drowned with all my things in the nether I do not know where and I would like them to fix that or they will explain to me what happened because I had everything I had achieved since I started the world in the inventory and dying in the middle of nowhere drowning and without any sense, it was not pleasant, I would appreciate if you would take the time to solve that bug, thank you
