MCPE kicks me out and makes items I'd just crafted in a crafting table disappear

Mcpe app kicks me out, and when I come back, I find that the items I had been using have disappeared from existence. This happened after I crafted sticks and it happened after I made 5 or 6 gold tools. I had had a stack of gold ingots and several sticks. They are now gone.
