Mob spawning blocks continue spawning even if you place torches

If you have a mob spawner and you want to stop it from spawning you can't. For example if you go on the PC version you can place A torch on all sides of the spawner and it stops the mob from spawning. But this doesn't happen in PE. Therefore you cannot stop the Spawner and you must break it to stop it.
