Bees still attack the player, even under campfire smoke from under another bee nest/hive.

When I was setting up a bee hive like I would normally do, which worked in previous versions, I started to harvest honey from the top of the nest and the bees still got angry at me, even when I could see the smoke underneath it. Is this a bug or a nerf to bee farms? But, no matter what it is, I hate it. Thanks in advance!
