Nintendo switch freezes when you close the game

When I downloaded the update I opened minecraft and it took a long time to load (the loading problem is completely unrelated because that is pretty typical for switch) usually when this happens I just close out the software. I did this and when I pressed the home button my entire console froze for about 10 minutes and when my switch finally began working again and I had the same problem and it froze again for even longer. I tried a third time and tried not to press the home button but did on accident and now I am sitting here typing this while I wait the longest amount of time yet for my switch to unfreeze. PLEASE FIX THIS MY GAME IS ENTIRELY UNPLAYABLE AND NOT ONLY THAT I CANT DO ANYTHING WITH MY SWITCH. I know this just became a thing because I played yesterday before I downloaded the update and experienced no such issue.
