guardian farm crash

when i go to kill the guardians in the nether side of my farm the game crashes after a few hits. the first time it corrupted my world. Its now done it three times in a row - crashing back to desktop. there arent that many guardians so i cant imagine its too many entities or mobs causing the crash.

If i hit them slower it takes more time to crash.
