Game freezes completely

There recently game has been freezing non stop. We are able to play for roughly 30 minutes to an hour at a time before it freezes. It happens moat frequently when opeing chests of any variety or trading with villagers. Sometimes nothing triggers it and we are just simply building. This happens way too often upwards of 4 times if not more a day.
