I am on my 8th wave of a raid

I am on my 8th wave of a raid every time I finish a wave another one just starts. I am in a decently laggy part of the word but I don't think that has anything to do with it. 

I was in the village when I killed the illiger and had to leave the village and reenter in order for the raid to start.
