MInecarts switching tracks

Minecarts are jumping rails to other tracks. I have a bamboo farm next to a sugarcane farm. Two separate rail lines with minecart w/ hoppers on them.. They both run E/W and make turns to the north running parallel to each other for 4-5 blocks and then turning to head back away from each other.. The turns for the 2 lines do not switch. The rail lines are utilizing always-on powered rails before the turns, but this does not power the turns to be switched. Somehow the minecarts are jumping over to the other tracks. 

I separated the two tracks by one block in the short term, and am hoping this resolves the issue. The picture of my short term solution is attached.
