Powered rails kick out of minecart

Was trying to make a rail from my base to my mountain base and found that the powered rails were kicking me out of the minecart when I went over them. Not activator rails, not found in a mineshaft, they were powered rails I had crafted. No matter how many times I tried to fix the issue, it kept kicking me out of the cart when I'd go over them.
