Laggy Gameplay

My singleplayer worlds seem to lag at random times (noticeable when eating, mining, walking, listening to the in-game music, etc). It mostly creates the issue where time seems to freeze and then unfreeze. I've also notice rubber banding issues when friends join worlds.
