My controls are not showing up even though I'm only on the touch.

As soon as I start a new world I see a blank screen with no controls or anything. I play on a tablet and my settings are on touch mode. Pls help as I struggle to play due to not seeing my hot bar,inventory button,sneak,jump,and move button(s).
