You can't remove dead bushes from crafting table

I was trying to make banners, but when I put a dead bush on the crafting table (I did it by accident) they don't go away! I put other items to replace it but it doesn't budge! Even when I destroy the whole crafting table, I place the crafting table again and, I can't remove the dead bush that is still there! This is very annoying, please fix this!
